 On September 30, 2006, Quiltopia
joined forces with Nashua
Sew & Vac,
St. Joseph Hospital, and the Southern NH
Quilt Festival,
for
a QuiltPink event.
On that day, more than 1000 quilt shops
across the USA and around the world held workshops to make pink quilts.
The quilts will be sold on E-Bay beginning in February, with auction proceeds going to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Organizers of the auction expect to receive over 5000 quilts. Our event was held at Rivier College in Nashua, NH, and we are all grateful for their support of this event. Eileen Corbeille, RN, OCN, from The Breast Care Center at St.Joseph Hospital, was our guest speaker. About FIFTY wonderful volunteers of all ages and skill levels came to help that day - what a terrific turnout! Here are some photos of the work in progress.

We are also grateful to the logarm quilters of the region for helping us with assembling and finishing the quilts. To date, we have sent these six quilts to the auction organizers, with several more to go at a later date. _________________________________________________________________________
