Not my usual Entourage

It’s been a long time coming, but my newest pattern, Entourage, is finally here!

It had its debut in March, in the Purple Moose booth at the NJ Quiltfest and at AQS Lancaster, then appeared again at MQX earlier this month:

See, there it is, hanging up on the left!

This quilt was sort of a departure for me. It was a challenge to myself on several fronts:

  • Use just four fabrics, from my existing stash (not my usual scrappy choice)
  • Use a medallion-style setting (not my usual block-to-block choice)
  • Use a quiet, traditional color palette (not my usual bright-and-bold choice)

No wonder I struggled with it – too many challenges! In spite of all that, I am very pleased with the outcome. Melissa Heys did an outstanding job (as usual) with the quilting:

Check out the feathers around the center. LOVE them!

And I like the second version even better:

Scrappy makes me happy.

I put this one together from the blocks made by my lovely group of pattern testers (a bunch of my fellow Squanicookies). OK, it’s a scrappy version, but it all came out my stash!

And thanks to the magic of EQ7, I even colored up a Christmas-y version, using a pretty border print, and some fabrics by Classically Home/Marianne Elizabeth for RJR:

It’s available in hard copy by ordering from the pattern page. If you prefer a .pdf download, just go to either patternspot.com or craftsy.com , and search for Judabelle.

I hope you like it!
